The physicians at Advanced Otolaryngology all have expertise in the evaluation and management of diseases of the soft tissues of the head and neck. This includes the upper aero-digestive tract (oral and nasal cavities, pharynx, and larynx), the salivary glands, and thyroid/parathyroid glands. Presenting complaints vary widely and may include neck mass, difficulty swallowing, throat/neck pain, ear pain, breathing difficulties and unexplained blood from the nose and/or mouth. A thoughtful approach is always taken, and imaging studies are carefully chosen depending on the individual patientʼs presentation and examination findings. If biopsies are recommended, they will be obtained using the least invasive method possible, including ultrasound-guided needle aspiration biopsy, especially in the case of nodules of the thyroid gland.
